Announcement: Fiction Editor, Daniel DeRock
Dear reader,
It’s with great pleasure I announce that our prior contributor Daniel DeRock has come on board as our fiction editor!
Since I first worked with Daniel over a year ago, I saw in him a gift that surpasses many writers and editors of present day: He sees beyond the obvious into the possible, the weird, the connections between now and then, pain and pleasure. He connects perspective with bodily experience, bodily experience with idealism that, as he is simultaneously aware, cannot be reached. He bends words in ways that are not always obvious, and he sees what a story can become long before it even begins. I know this is true in his own writing, and I’ve seen this come alive in his editing for other magazines and in guest spots with anthologies. He sees beyond his own work into the potential of others.
Simply, he has the vision necessary to be part of what guides us forward here at Reservoir Road, and I’m absolutely thrilled he’s taking this journey with us. I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table, and I hope you do, too.
